As a quarian, Tali exists within the confines of an ornate environmental suit. Her facial features are complete obscured behind a violet mask. She is slender, and has 3 fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot. Within the hotel, she is slight of build, dark-skinned, dark-haired, and dark-eyed. She speaks with a distinct accent.

personality & demeanor

"I know... well no not that I know... it's just that... well... it's not normally like this... I mean, wow... when did it get so hot in here?" _______________________________

Tali is both blessed and cursed with deeply seated, inherent curiosity, and it is without a doubt her most defining characteristic. She has an unshakeable need to know how things work and to understand why, a need that has lead her into both great things and terrible dangers. This curiosity has helped nurse her innate mechanical gifts; there are very few things she cannot take apart, understand how they work, and reassemble so that they work even better than before. In some ways she is sheltered and naive, in part due to the lifestyle of the quarian people, who live very isolated lives within their environmental suits, unable to touch the world around them without risking anaphylaxis or life-threatening infections. She is loyal to her people and to Shepard, adventurous, kind, and slightly shy, occasionally finding herself flustered and unable to properly express herself, particularly in the presence of those she feels either an attraction to or great affection for. Her father is something of a sore spot for Tali, as she does not always agree with him and his methods, but has never been able to find the courage to speak out and has always done what he asked of her. Instead, she spent all of her life living up to him, then trying to conceal his mistakes to protect his reputation and good name.
personal history
"Since they drove my people into exile, the Geth have never ventured beyond the veal. Our lives our not easy. Resources are cares and we are constantly on the move. It's illegal for parents to have more than one child. If our population grows too much it would strain our resources to the breaking point."

A member of the vagabond quarian race, Tali’Zorah was born aboard the ship Rayya, the only child of Admiral Rael’Zorah. Like all quarians, Tali has lived her entire life within the confines of a carefully controlled environmental suit to protect her near non-existent immune system from foreign allergens and bacteria. Rael’Zorah was an often preoccupied and rather strict father, focused on regaining the lost quarian homeworld and impressing the same ambition and drive onto his daughter. When Tali reached the age of maturity, she left the Migrant Fleet on the customary Pilgrimage, the quarian rite of passage into adulthood. Her task was to bring something of value back to the Flotilla, and as Tali was the daughter of an Admiral, a great deal was expected of her.

On the way to her destination, Tali intercepted a signal from the Geth, the race that drove Tali’s people from their homeworld. Curious, she investigated, and managed to disable a Geth and remove its memory core--a task that required an impressive amount of skill, as Geth were programmed to self-destruct before their memory cores could be manipulated in any way. On the device, Tali discovered several recorded communications between the Geth and Saren Arterius that implicated the Turian Spectre in the attack on the human colony of Eden Prime. Tali wanted to bring this evidence to the authorities on Ilium, her original destination, but they refused to let her land because of universal prejudice against quarians. With no other options, Tali sought sanctuary on the Citadel, but was again met with prejudice, as no one wanted to associate with or believe the word of a quarian. With no other options, Tali sought to deal with the elusive Shadow Broker, and found herself double crossed. Enter, here, the timely and welcome arrival of the great Commander Shepard.

Shepard was more than willing to hear Tali’s evidence against Saran, and equally willing to let her join the crew of the Normandy. Fighting the Geth was a worthy goal in Tali’s eyes, and she put off her pilgrimage to follow after Shepard, eager to see the Normandy’s engine in action. It was quite an adjustment for Tali, as quarian ships did not run so quietly, and housed a much larger crew, but Tali endeared herself to the engineering officers and proved herself to be an enormous asset to Shepard’s team. After Saran’s defeat and the battle at the Citadel, Tali returned to the Flotilla with her pilgrimage gift in hand: a copy of encrypted Geth data that would be of great value to her people’s fight to regain their homeworld.

Tali was accepted as a valued crew member by the captain of the Neema, changing her name ship name from nar Rayya to vas Neema. Though it was quite unexpected, Tali encountered Shepard again on a mission to search a young quarian gone missing during his Pilgrimage. She had thought Shepard dead and was quite upset to see the human she had so looked up to working with the pro-human, anti-alien group Cerberus. Only her respect and admiration for Shepard would allow her to overlook his associates, but it was not enough for her to accept Shepard’s offer to join the crew of the new Normandy. Her mission was too important, and her people had to come first.

Fate is a funny thing, though, and Tali and Shepard reunited again on the former quarian occupied planet of Haestrom, where Tali was studying the system’s dying sun. Though she was still wary of Cerberus, she accepted Shepard’s second offer to join the Normandy’s crew on another seemingly impossible mission. Not long after joining Shepard on the new Normandy, Tali received some frightening news from the Admiralty Board of the Migrant Fleet: she was being accused of treason, and worse, they had changed her ship name to vas Normandy, which indicated to Tali that the admirals’ minds were already made up. Though she couldn’t imagine what she could have possibly done that amounted to treason, she asked Shepard to come with her as her newly appointed captain and stand by her as she faced the charges against her.
